Fall

Falling leaves mark the passage of time.

Another year was born and now it dies.

Among the ruins of summer stand memories.

Temporary tattoos of that fleeting time.

Here a broken heart there a mended one.

Here a mother holds a newborn son.

There a son buries his father.

Here a breakup, there a first date.

Here a first birthday, there a last one.

It was a wonderful year, it was a sad year.

A good year or a bad year.

Now it’s done.
